375 FSS rolls on with Quality of Life Enhancements!

The 375th Force Support Squadron is on a journey to improve YOUR quality of life experiences and destinations around Scott AFB. Check out the reinvestments we’ve made for YOU and YOUR families! Many of these improvements are made possible by your patronage to FSS facilities and participation in programs!

Testing Office Improvements

FSS funded a raised floor project to accommodate 49 laptop stations for e-WAPS initiative. Air Force is shifting from paper promotion testing to computer based and the Testing Office invested over 1 year in preparations to provide Team Scott with the resources to ensure Airmen are equipped and ready to excel.

  • Project started summer 2022
  • Raised Floor securely allows cabling to be hidden under floor for easy access
  • New carpet/baseboards and walls painted
  • Education Center purchased 52 laptops with required specifications

Career Assistance Advisor/FTAC NCOIC/Inservice Recruiter Office Renovations

A FSS funded renovation to bring Professional Development to the forefront at Scott AFB

  • Two classrooms have been split to make 4 individual office space (Career Advisor, FTAC NCOIC, Air Guard Inservice Recruiter, Reserves Inservice Recruiter)
  • Designated entrance with new glass door, sidewalk, awning, downspouts, and splash blocks
  • New “Scott Professional Development Center” signage mounted on the exterior wall

Cardinal Creek Golf Course

Fence Liner Added

  • Second Phase of Project
  • Began in 2021
  • First Phase Completed in 2021 (Back Fence of Range)
  • Second Phase Completed Spring of 2023 (Right Side)
  • Removed Trees and Brush
  • Regraded Range and Planted Fine Fescue Turf
  • Fence Liner will keep practice balls on the range and easier maintenance saving money annually

Dining Facility

Dining Facility Main Dining Area Carpet Replacement

  • Project started Oct. 24, 2022 and was completed in Oct. 28, 2022
  • Project was approximately $24K
  • New flooring provides for a clean and inviting environment for our customers

Cardinal Creek Golf Course

Cardinal Creek Upstairs Conference Room

  • Project began September 2022, estimated completion date of December 2022
  • Removing old bar/fixtures
  • Installing new flooring, wall coverings, lighting, Audio Visual and furniture
  • After renovations, this space will allow for groups of up to 30 to hold meetings, presentations, off-site meetings, retirements, showers, etc.

Bunkers Drainage Project

  • Project began July 2021
  • Repair drainage systems to 13 bunkers on course
  • Improved playability and maintenance for all bunkers and surrounding areas

Clubhouse, Cart Barn & Front Entrance Refresh

  • Repaired/replaced as a result of Storm Damage/Flash Flood in August 2020
  • Replaced/Painted/repaved building exterior, basement storage area, partial cart paths, bridge, signage, parking circle
  • New flooring provides for a clean environment for our kids

After much wear and tear on the building, plus flood damage in the fall of 2020, the clubhouse was in need of repair. New siding, soffit and paint has made a world of difference in making this building a welcoming, beautiful facility.

Child Development Centers

New Flooring

  • Project started November 2018 and was completed in July 2020
  • Project was approximately $500K
  • New flooring provides for a clean environment for our kids

Scott Event Center

New Walk-in Cooler/Freezers

  • 10 year old Walk-in Cooler/Freezer demolished
  • New State of the Art $235K system installed
  • Completed ahead of schedule

Stars & Strikes Bowling Center

Bathroom Makeover

  • This project started in October 2020 and is slated to be complete by the end of the year
  • All four restrooms will be totally renovated
  • New fixtures to include sinks, toilets, stall dividers will be installed
  • Room will be handicapped accessible
  • After the project started, a minor hiccup with the plumbing was discovered, setting back the completion date
  • All work is now on schedule

Customized Murals on Walls

  • This enhancement to the facility began 2020 and lasted only a few days
  • The huge east and west walls of the bowling center received a customized mural
  • Mural features local landmarks and offerings

Game Room Expansion

  • The renovation of the game room began in 2019 and cost $30K
  • Walls were removed allowing more space
  • Walls were painted bright colors that make the room more inviting
  • New games were added
  • Upgraded area added another family friendly area to the facility

Dining Facility

Food 2.0

The Nightingale Dining Facility (DFAC) has completed its Food Transformation Initiative, or more commonly referred to as Food 2.0. This renovation can now accommodate all members of Team Scott, to include Active Duty, Retirees, Civilians, Contractors and family members. Another noteworthy feature of Food 2.0 implementation is “Campus Dining” which is intended to expand food choices by allowing airman on meal cards the benefit to eat at any of the 375th Force Support Squadron food and beverage operation, not just the dining facility.

Our corporate partner Sodexo is a leading provider of integrated food and other services that enhance organizational performance and improve quality of life. Equipped with the latest cooking technology, a better layout, Wi-Fi and Sodexo, the renovations will not only promote healthy, energizing food options, but will also allow anyone who works and plays at Scott to dine here. These improvements better meet the needs and demands of our airman when it comes to recharging and refueling our warfighters!

FamCamp

Bathhouse Renovation

Renovations are complete at the FamCamp Bathhouse at Scott Lake. The restrooms, shower and laundry areas received a major facelift. This $256K (NAF) project was complete within a few months. Scott Lake is a great place to spend quality time with friends and family, enhancing your Quality of Life experience at Scott AFB!

  • Now ADA Compliant
  • New floors, countertops, sinks, toilets, showers, benches, light fixtures and more

Cardinal Creek Golf Course

Best course conditions ever seen!

  • Introduced new Café menu and furnishings
  • Renovated on-course Halfway House
  • Replaced all bridges throughout the course
  • Removed undesirable sand traps
  • Upgraded golf carts
  • Implemented maintenance equipment recapitalization plan
  • Replaced entrance/circle drive landscaping

On the horizon, the cart path will be resurfaced making your golf experience the best it can be. We look forward to seeing you on the course!

Pro Shop: Stocked & ready to go!

The Pro Shop at Cardinal Creek Golf Course has a new look! Renovations included removal of the wall separating the Pro Shop area from the front door. The area is now more open and inviting. In addition to the removal of the wall, new, larger windows were installed. Other features added were floor coverings, new fixtures, new counter, new merchandising furnishings and more. The entire area is expanded with a new look. Make sure to check it out!

Stars & Strikes Bowling Center

Newly remodeled facility with over $600K worth of upgrades!!

  • Installed state-of-the-art Quibca BESX Interactive Scoring System
  • Upgraded Edge Pinsetters
  • Replaced all lane and snack bar furniture
  • Replaced lockers, ball racks and house balls
  • Installed new state-of-the-art sound and lighting system

Enhancements deliver a fun-filled, family entertainment destination for all Airman and their families!

Pool

Dive in!
During the summer months, the base populous can swim at this newly renovated pool. Recent upgrades include:

  • New 12ft aqua climbing wall
  • New dual slide and kiddie pool duck slide
  • New pool liner, pumps and chlorine delivery systems

Common Grounds is the place to get your coffee! Common Grounds proudly serves STARBUCKS, plus many other offerings to include pastries, salads, wraps & more! The facility has recently received a refresh that included:

Our newest coffee shop, Rickenbacker’s, located inside the new Lodging facility, opened in January 2018. This new facility is conveniently located for those Lodging customers just checking in or for those who want to grab a coffee or bite to eat before heading out to a meeting. Rickenbacker’s proudly serves Starbucks Coffee in addition to salads, wraps, pastries, bagels and so much more. This facility is also very conveniently located to the dorms, Child Development Centers and the Metro Link Station. Stop by today!

The Arts & Crafts Center received a make-over! The renovations create a more customer friendly experience and a gallery-style facility. Customers are now able to better view all the possible options the Arts & Crafts Center has to offer.
